A Relational Database is a method of structuring data in the form of records so that relationships between separate entities and attributes can be used for data access. A database stores the data in two-dimensional tables (relations) that can be joined by keys in one or more columns (attributes)
A RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) is the software system that manages a relational database. Examples of a RDBMS are Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft Access, DB2, Sybase and SQL Server.
